In the future, the VDT and Prolight + Sound will cooperate even more closely. In this context, the VDT welcomes the leading international trade fair for the entertainment technology industry not only as a new supporting member, but also as an active participant with its booth at the upcoming Tonmeistertagung in Düsseldorf from November 8 to 11, 2023. In addition, the two partners will continue organizing the ProAudio College, which was jointly established in 2023 and celebrated its premiere in April 2023. At Prolight + Sound 2024 from March 19 to 22, the once again expanded seminar program for sound professionals, will be dedicated to various key topics, further internationalized, while strengthening young talent in the industry and offering specialized advanced training courses. Independently of this training series, the VDT will also be involved in the event in Frankfurt am Main with an extensive trade fair presence.

Prolight + Sound is also sponsoring the VDT's Connecting Audio Night on November 9 in the historic ambience of Dr. Thompson's Soap Factory, one of the oldest factory buildings in the heart of Düsseldorf. There, exhibitors, professionals and the next generation of the industry will have the opportunity to network intensively and round off the second day of the 32nd Tonmeistertagung together.

Prolight + Sound and VDT: joining forces for the future of the industry!

For more than 25 years, Prolight + Sound has been presenting technological innovations for live events and studio productions. Hundreds of international companies present their innovations at the Frankfurt exhibition centre – plus numerous special areas and attractions, especially in the audio sector. Thus, in addition to the ProAudio College, the Performance + Production Hub, which highlights topics related to DJing and innovative sound tools, will also receive a continuation. In addition, the Live Sound Arena makes it possible to experience the sound of powerful PA systems under real conditions. At last count, Prolight + Sound had 27,556 visitors from 113 countries.

With more than 2,000 members, VDT e. V. is one of the largest professional associations in the audio industry. It represents the interests of audio professionals of all ages from the fields of music production, radio, film, games, television, and stage. The biennial Tonmeistertagung organized by the VDT promotes the active exchange of experience between professionals, manufacturers as well as equipment suppliers and also links pro-audio development, science, and practice. With a comprehensive congress program and affiliated trade fair, the community event influences the pulse of the pro audio industry and enables unique knowledge transfer at the highest level.
