Board election 2025
The three-year term of office of the Executive Board ends in the second quarter of 2025; new elections are therefore due. The election procedure, which is set out in the Articles of Association and the election regulations, differs from that of most clubs and associations, particularly with regard to the election of the President. Section 3.3 of the election regulations states: “The candidate for the office of President shall be nominated by the Extended Board no later than three months before the Board election.” This means that only one person is nominated as a candidate for President and then confirmed by the members during the election.
This nomination was made by the Extended Board on the evening of November 6. Ulrike was unanimously nominated in an online meeting of the committee - we congratulate her warmly and look forward to a new term of office with her as President! Incidentally, this makes her the first woman in the almost 75-year history of the VDT to be officially nominated as President. She moved into her current position after Jürgen Marchlewitz had to step down as President for health reasons.
The candidacy phase for all other board members will begin in December. We will update this information regularly.
We have also published further information on the election process in issue 4-2024 of the magazine.
